Wellness Care & Vaccinations
At Hilltop Animal Hospital, we believe that prevention is truly the best medicine! Our preventive medicine services include annual wellness exams that include a full physical, fecal sample parasite screening, and vaccination boosters. All pets should receive the core vaccination series to protect against contagious illnesses such as parvo, distemper and rabies. Depending on your pet’s lifestyle, additional vaccinations may be recommended, such as bordetella, which protects against kennel cough. Our care team works closely with each pet owner to ensure pets are up to date on all critical vaccinations.
Pet Surgery & Orthopedic/Soft Tissue Surgery
Our Fuquay Varina veterinarian is experienced in general surgery as well as orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. Whether your pet needs a routine spay/neuter procedure or an advanced orthopedic procedure to repair a torn cruciate ligament, we are here to help. Our state-of-the-art surgical suite and advanced diagnostic imaging equipment supports a safe, precise procedure each and every time. We also offer minimally invasive surgery using laparoscopic surgical techniques, including ovariectomy as an alternative to traditional spaying procedures, cryptorchid testicle removal, laparoscopic assisted gastropexy, and liver biopsy.
Dentistry & Periodontal Pet Care
Dental disease not only affects the mouth, but also can increase the risk for bacterial infections that may damage the heart, liver, lung and kidneys. Good dental hygiene includes annual dental cleanings to reduce the risk for periodontal disease and tooth loss. Over time, plaque and tartar deposits will naturally build up along the gum line. Symptoms of periodontal disease include gums that are red and swollen or bleed easily. When plaque develops below the gum line, a professional cleaning is the only way to safely remove these deposits and protect your pet from periodontal disease, tooth loss and bacterial infections.
Emergency Pet Care
When an emergency strikes, our Fuquay Varina veterinarian is here to assist! We provide emergency and urgent pet care for pets during regular hours at our animal hospital; no appointment is necessary. Pets are seen on a triage basis.
